Porsche Carrera GT Speedster
Serial :#84946

The GTs are, of course, known for their racing feats at the hands of drivers such as Bruce Jennings, who earned the title .King Carrera" after a C-production championship in 1964 . Jennings won more races in a Carrera than any driver in history campaigning a team of as many as four GT Speedsters against powerful racers. One of these now resides in the Collier Museum in Florida and one in Switzerland.

Another of Jennings' team cars, #84950, still makes the rounds as a vintage racer sporting the original ruby red and silver paint scheme used in the 1960's. This car, #84946 is the fourth raced by "King Carrera" being modified as a race car with RSK engine and annular disc brake system.

The 1959 GT Speedsters are the very last Speedsters ever produced and from number 84923 to #84954 (THE LAST) lies part of Porsche's most intriguing history . This uncharacteristic "mistake" by Porsche in being organized and sequential we apparently caught quickly, as the 1959 GT Speedsters are the only Carreras ever produced in a single, concurrent batch. There were 32 of these cars built in 1959, "THE LAST" #84954 now shares the same garage space as this car.
